A year of big change.

To sum up the last year, I would say it has been a year of big change for the May Family. It has been almost a year since my last post. Mainly due to having an ipad that lacks the ability to post and upload photos (I'm rarely on a regular computer) and general laziness! So here is a quick run-down of the year...

1. Joel and I went to Paris in September 2011 to celebrate our 5 year anniversary.

2. Nathan started his second year of preschool at St. James. He loved school, his friends and his teacher. I feel like he grew up so much during the year.

3. We spent a wonderful time with family in Fort Wayne for Thanksgiving. It was warm and we were able to play outside without freezing and ate way too much.

4. Christmas was a time of surprises. We announced to our families that a new little one would be joining our family in July 2012.

5. After Christmas, rumors started going around at Jones Day. Rumor had it, the head of the Atlanta office wanted Joel to move to her office.

6. Beginning of January. Rumor confirmed. Joel was asked to move to Atlanta.

7. After a lot of discussion, a trip to visit Atlanta and many prayers we decided to move to Atlanta.

8. Springtime was spent making trips to Atlanta looking for houses and soaking up all the time we could with friends and family.

9. The plan was to spend the summer in Chicago and enjoy the cooler summer. Turns out -- it was hotter in Chicago this summer...and remember I was pregnant!

10. On July 13, our beautiful baby girl Johanna Ruth May was born. She is named after her great grandma Warneke and my Aunt. We love her more than words can say.

11. One last celebration with family and friends on August 19 when we had Johanna baptized. Many tears, smiles and laughs that weekend.

12. On August 23 we began our new adventure as a family of 5 in Atlanta in a much bigger house with a yard!

13. Nathan (kindergarden) and Eli (preschool) started school here in September. Nathan hasn't looked back since. He loves school and enjoys reading and writing. Of course his amazing memory has people amazed...it's starting to give him an even bigger head! Eli had a rough start, but is turning back into my smiling, happy kiddo.

14. Johanna is almost 3 months old and spends more time in her car seat than I would like. She is a good sleeper (knock on wood) and loves to watch her brothers run around. Her smiles melt my heart.

So that is a little recap of our world. My hope is to keep up on this blog to keep in touch with all of the people we love.

Look forward to frequent updates (hint, hint). Love seeing the pictures of our beautiful grandchildren (and their parents of course)
