Life's a beach

Today we went to the beach at Foster Avenue. It is a great beach! Nice and clean and plenty of parking. I was a little worried that we would get there with all of our stuff and Nathan wouldn't like it for some reason or another. However, Nathan LOVED it!! He cried when we left and talked about the beach all day. It was a great way to take advantage of living in the city. I'm sure we'll be back there before baby #2 comes. The weather was perfect and the water wasn't too cold.
The other big news in the May household...Nathan is sleeping in his big boy bed. He didn't try to get out, but stayed up late. Joel and I didn't get the best nights sleep because we were so worried about Nathan. I'm hoping tonight that we'll all sleep much better!

Fathers Day

Playing at the park before the Cubs Game
Watching the game

Too bright!

Tired guy..but Cubs win!
To top off a really busy weekend we went to the Cubs game for Father's Day. After a quick bite to eat and some play time at the park we headed over to Wrigley Field for the game. Nathan did great and loved the clapping and was on the look out for birds. He lasted about 2 hours before he kept saying, "home, I want to go home". So we left after a big Cubs inning and watched the Cubs win from home.

Nathan's Birthday party!

Is that cake for me??
Yes, the McQueen cake is YOUR cake!

He is trying really hard not to be messy (also not to miss out on any of the cake!).

Playing golf and bags.

His favorite toy - Mack
I can't believe my baby is 2!! Wow, time really does fly by. We had a little birthday party here for Nathan and he really enjoyed all of the food and juice. We had a lot of our neighbors here and family. Nathan opened Mack first. Big mistake. He didn't want to open any of his other presents, but his friend Jamie was more than happy to help out and open the rest of the presents.
Happy Birthday little man! We love you!!

Morning Paper.

Reading the ads.
Hummm. What's on sale this week?

I know he got this from me. I usually read the mail/ads during breakfast. Nathan decided that he wanted to see what I've been looking at and grabbed the paper. He loved looking at all of the pictures and pointing out what things and the numbers on the pages. Soon I'll have him clipping coupons!

Train!!

What's in this bag?
Oh! It's Thomas and his friends.

The table that Joel built for Nathan

He loves it!!
For Nathan's birthday Joel built a table to put a train set on. Once we got the train tracks, Joel couldn't wait for Nathan's birthday to give him the present. So as soon as Nathan woke up from his nap, we showed him the trains and table. I think he was a little surprised at first, but now he'll play for hours with the trains. Best gift ever (for both of us:)!
