Vacation!!!

Bye, bye ground.
Nathan's first taste of a Strawberry Daiquiri - no booze.

UNO!

Checkmate! (Nathan wanted to ride the horse)

They had mini clubs for the mini golf course. Look at that form! I'm so proud.

Despite a teething Nathan, we had a great time on vacation. Nathan picked a great time to get 5 new teeth...maybe more. He was in a lot of pain and had trouble sleeping, eating and just wasn't himself. He was still a trooper and played in the sand, on the mini golf course and the big chess board. I think Joel and I were on edge until Thursday when he started feeling better and we realized what was wrong.

The weather was beautiful and the company even better. We got to snorkel, eat and drink (a lot!). A big thanks to my family and family friends who played with Nathan and helped us keep Nathan happy!

Golfing

We've been getting ready for our big family vacation to Cozumel. Joel brought out his golf clubs and Nathan loved trying to hit a ball with the clubs. The place we're staying at has a mini golf course so I'm having Nathan practice so he can beat Uncle Matt!

Nathan's (current) favorite things.

Focused on coloring.

Ready, Set, GO!

Once I figured out how much Nathan loves to color, I went out and bought him a big box of crayons and a big coloring book. I thought he might be a bit young, but he seems to realized that mommy will take away his crayons if he colors on anything besides the paper. He'll tell himself "no" when he is about to color something that he knows he shouldn't. So far, so good.

He's one talkative little boy! His other favorite thing to do now is line up his matchbox cars and run them along the window sill yelling, "ready, set, go!" over and over again. I can't tell you how nice it is to have him so occupied while I make meals. Nathan continues to amazing me. He's a little sponge who seems to learn something new everyday. He knows over 1/2 the letters of the alphabet and can count to 10.

Happy Birthday Thomas!

Hugging Anna.
Coloring with Gloria.

Loving quality time with Dad.

"Learning" to share with Benjamin.
We took a quick day trip to Granger to help celebrate Thomas' 3rd birthday. We went to a really cool kids learning museum where Nathan discovered his love of coloring. I think he sat and colored for 45 minutes. I've never seen him sit in one spot for that long. EVER!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Nathan learned how to sing "happy birthday daddy!"
Licking the beaters.
We had a quick celebration for Joel's birthday. He's been really busy at work, but that doesn't mean we can't have cake! Nathan got his first taste of cake batter and kept asking for more! Needless to say, he dove right into the cake after singing Happy Birthday Daddy.

A roll in the hay

Nathan loved the tractor!

Sitting by the camp fire.

I don't know about this stuff...

Ok, I guess this is fun!

We had the chance to go with our neighbor, Gracie, to her grandparents house in Lake Bluff. Nathan (and mom and dad) had a great time playing, eating and drinking. Nathan had his first fire-roasted marshmallow and loved to sit by the camp fire. After some coaxing by mom, Nathan decided that the hay was a fun place to play.

Happy Halloween.

Our little pirate who just woke up!

Eating pizza with Daddy.

More chips please.

It was a great night for Halloween! Nathan had so much fun running around outside and and our neighbors house. He only ate chips and candy for dinner and couldn't have been happier. We had a napping issue so I ended up waking him up around 5:30 so we could at least get some pictures of him in the daylight! He kept the entire pirate outfit on all night and walking around saying "happy ghost" and "arggg, matey". It was pretty darn cute. The funniest moment had to be when a kid dressed up as Tigger walked by and Nathan followed him say "Tiger, tiger, tiger". Oh, and the adults had fun too!
