Vacation in the City

Farm in the city.
Nathan's favorite part of the zoo - the vendor that sold popcorn out of an old truck.
For our summer vacation we stayed home! It has been a great vacation and we've had fun enjoying the city, exploring the zoo, napping and eating out. Joel and I went to the Cubs game on Friday and had a great time in the bleachers watching the Cubs win. Uncle Matt, Aunt Chrissy and Amber watched Nathan all night! It was the first night Nathan and I have been away from each other! They brought Nathan to his party so we were able to get everything set up on Saturday morning for the big 1st birthday party (more pics from the party later). Tomorrow Joel goes back to work. Nathan is really going to miss his daddy. I'm going to have to keep him busy.
Nathan is talking a lot and walking all over the place. His new favorite word is walk. He doesn't want you to hold his hand or help him at all. I'm sure he'll be off and running sooner rather than later!

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

My first Cheese cap! Thank you Tod, Lynn and Becky!!
Dinner out for Nahtan's b-day.

Nathan finished off his dinner with his first taste of ice cream. Needless to say, he loved it.
I'm a big boy now! The car seat is facing forward and Nathan is a happy camper after a good dinner. Check out the chocolate on his face!

Where's your belly button?

Working in the yard with Daddy.
Here's my belly button!Nathan loves watermelon.
We had our final doctor's appointment on Monday and the doctor said that everything looked great. No more bandages or medicines! Yeah!! The wonderful weather has been great. Summer in the city is wonderful!
It's hard to believe that a year ago yesterday was our due date. If only I knew I would be waiting another 9 days until Nathan arrived it would have been a much easier 9 days!

Talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, talk

"Hi"
Bath time and Gma and Gpa Muellers.
Nathan is really starting to talk and make some sense. He loves to say "hi" to everyone and if you don't say hi back, he just keep saying it louder and louder until you pay attention to him. "Bubbles" seems to be his new favorite word. He loves to go outside and blow "duhbles". Some other words he can say are Dada, clap, car, truck, wawa (water), walk, nigh night, ba bye, da (bottle) and sometimes mama. Of course none of these are exactly spoken clearly, but I can understand him. Finally I feel like I'm not just talking to myself!
Thanks to Gma for the pictures (pre-injury)
