Twinkle, twinkle.

If you have spent anytime with Nathan, you'll realize quickly how much he loves to sing. He has quite a few songs under his belt. One of them is Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Here's a little snippet of him singing. Once he realized I was taping him, he wanted to watch himself...over and over again! Other favorites include, The Itsy Bitsy Spider, Old McDonald, The ABC song, The Wheels on the Bus, and Happy Birthday. It's fun to listen to him sing himself to sleep at night!

Christmas with the Muellers.

Amber, Santa Grandpa, and Katie (dressed up as Snow White, too cute!)
Nathan didn't take too well to Santa

All of the Mueller kids.
After visiting with the Mays' we headed over to my brothers house in Wheaton to spend some time with the Mueller family. Once again there was a lot of food and presents. Nathan got a ton of presents, but his favorite had to be match box cars and trucks. He spent hours pushing match box cars along the kitchen floor. Amber is so good with Nathan! They play games together and she reads him books.
A big Thank to Gma, Gpa Mueller and Matt and Chrissy for watching Nathan while Joel and I went to Indy for a wedding!

Christmas with the Mays

Opening presents.
MORE presents!

Merry Christmas!

Strolling around with Adrienne.
Christmas with the May family was filled with kids, food and presents! As usual, it was too short! Nathan had a great time playing with his cousins. He didn't want to leave the toy room in the basement! Gma and Gpa have more trucks in one room than Nathan has ever seen!

Christmas at home.

Nathan looking in his stocking and hoping to find even more cars.
A Backyardigans DVD!!

Ripping off the paper, small piece by small piece!

I wonder what it could be.

It was so much fun to watch Nathan open his presents. At first, he didn't understand what was going on, but quickly learned that each new present had a new toy inside! I would have to say that his favorite gift had to be a Backyardigans DVD! Soon we're off to Gma and Gpa Mays!

Happy Birthday Great Grandma May!!!

Happy Birthday Great Grandma!
Nathan's not too sure where to sit.

The Family.

The family packed up and headed over to visit Great Grandma May and help her celebrate her 89th birthday! It was a short, but fun trip. We got to spend a lot of time with Great Grandma, Uncle Dave, Aunt Linda and the Galihers. Nathan had a great time playing with all of the toys and eating a lot of birthday cake.
We're off soon on our tour of the Midwest to see both of our families. Merry Christmas everyone!

Nathan loves his cousins!

Kissing cousins.
Moving in for a smooch.

Now that the cold is here to stay, Heidi and I have scheduled a weekly play date. Nathan is learning to share with the twins and the twins are teaching Nathan what it would be like to have a sibling! It has been such a blessing to see the twins every week. They are growing up so fast and have the best personalities! I can't believe that they will be 1 in a few weeks!

Oh Christmas Tree

Our Christmas tree.
I was trying to get Nathan to stand still and smile..not a easy task!

"Helping" take off the decorations!

Here's our 2008 Christmas tree! Joel picked out a great tree and Nathan had a good time taking all the ornaments off the tree. He just got his hair cut and refused to let go of the balloon. We're getting ready for our holiday travels and can't wait to see a lot of our family and friends!

Sick Froggie

Bear, Giraffe and Blanket looking for Froggie.
Giving them a hug.

Giving Froggie a kiss! (Poor Giraffe and Bear get tossed to the side)

So Nathan has 3 stuffed animals that he sleeps with every night. He hasn't been feeling very well the last couple of days and ended up throwing up on his favorite, Froggie. Poor Froggie never saw it coming. When Nathan woke up he kept asking, "Froggie go? Froggie go?". He was so confused because Froggie wasn't in bed with him in the morning. So he wanted to take Bear, Giraffe and Blanket to find Froggie. Well, Froggie was in the sink getting a much needed sponge bath. Nathan saw Froggie and wanted him right away, however Froggie was all wet. So Nathan grabbed one of his towels for Froggie. So I wrapped up Froggie in the towel and now Froggie is all better - so is Nathan.
ALSO HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO GRANDMA MUELLER!

Vacation!!!

Bye, bye ground.
Nathan's first taste of a Strawberry Daiquiri - no booze.

UNO!

Checkmate! (Nathan wanted to ride the horse)

They had mini clubs for the mini golf course. Look at that form! I'm so proud.

Despite a teething Nathan, we had a great time on vacation. Nathan picked a great time to get 5 new teeth...maybe more. He was in a lot of pain and had trouble sleeping, eating and just wasn't himself. He was still a trooper and played in the sand, on the mini golf course and the big chess board. I think Joel and I were on edge until Thursday when he started feeling better and we realized what was wrong.

The weather was beautiful and the company even better. We got to snorkel, eat and drink (a lot!). A big thanks to my family and family friends who played with Nathan and helped us keep Nathan happy!

More Vacation Pics

Not a happy kid...
Happy family!

Mueller family.

Nathan still loves to color.

Heading home.

Golfing

We've been getting ready for our big family vacation to Cozumel. Joel brought out his golf clubs and Nathan loved trying to hit a ball with the clubs. The place we're staying at has a mini golf course so I'm having Nathan practice so he can beat Uncle Matt!

Nathan's (current) favorite things.

Focused on coloring.

Ready, Set, GO!

Once I figured out how much Nathan loves to color, I went out and bought him a big box of crayons and a big coloring book. I thought he might be a bit young, but he seems to realized that mommy will take away his crayons if he colors on anything besides the paper. He'll tell himself "no" when he is about to color something that he knows he shouldn't. So far, so good.

He's one talkative little boy! His other favorite thing to do now is line up his matchbox cars and run them along the window sill yelling, "ready, set, go!" over and over again. I can't tell you how nice it is to have him so occupied while I make meals. Nathan continues to amazing me. He's a little sponge who seems to learn something new everyday. He knows over 1/2 the letters of the alphabet and can count to 10.

Happy Birthday Thomas!

Hugging Anna.
Coloring with Gloria.

Loving quality time with Dad.

"Learning" to share with Benjamin.
We took a quick day trip to Granger to help celebrate Thomas' 3rd birthday. We went to a really cool kids learning museum where Nathan discovered his love of coloring. I think he sat and colored for 45 minutes. I've never seen him sit in one spot for that long. EVER!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Nathan learned how to sing "happy birthday daddy!"
Licking the beaters.
We had a quick celebration for Joel's birthday. He's been really busy at work, but that doesn't mean we can't have cake! Nathan got his first taste of cake batter and kept asking for more! Needless to say, he dove right into the cake after singing Happy Birthday Daddy.

A roll in the hay

Nathan loved the tractor!

Sitting by the camp fire.

I don't know about this stuff...

Ok, I guess this is fun!

We had the chance to go with our neighbor, Gracie, to her grandparents house in Lake Bluff. Nathan (and mom and dad) had a great time playing, eating and drinking. Nathan had his first fire-roasted marshmallow and loved to sit by the camp fire. After some coaxing by mom, Nathan decided that the hay was a fun place to play.

Happy Halloween.

Our little pirate who just woke up!

Eating pizza with Daddy.

More chips please.

It was a great night for Halloween! Nathan had so much fun running around outside and and our neighbors house. He only ate chips and candy for dinner and couldn't have been happier. We had a napping issue so I ended up waking him up around 5:30 so we could at least get some pictures of him in the daylight! He kept the entire pirate outfit on all night and walking around saying "happy ghost" and "arggg, matey". It was pretty darn cute. The funniest moment had to be when a kid dressed up as Tigger walked by and Nathan followed him say "Tiger, tiger, tiger". Oh, and the adults had fun too!
